Disclaimer
Transparency first. Here is what an Octant report is — and what it isn’t — so you can decide with full information.
1. Nature of the analysis
Octant reports are interpretive analyses of behavioural patterns. They are produced by cross-referencing several independent analytical traditions with recognised psychological frameworks, and are offered for the purposes of self-knowledge, reflection, and structured thinking about behaviour.
Octant does not present these reports as exact science, as an empirically validated psychometric instrument, or as demonstrable truth. A report is a tool for interpretation — not a measurement, and not a diagnosis.
2. Not a substitute for professional advice
The content of a report does not constitute and does not replace advice from qualified professionals. In particular, it does not replace guidance from psychologists, physicians, psychiatrists, lawyers, financial advisers, career counsellors, or any other licensed specialist.
If you need help in any of these areas, we encourage you to consult an appropriately qualified professional.
3. Professional and organisational use
An Octant report must never be used as a basis — sole, primary, or contributing — for any decision affecting a person’s employment, livelihood, clinical care, or legal standing.
This includes, without limitation: hiring, rejection of a candidate, promotion, demotion, dismissal, team assignment, performance assessment, compensation, clinical or therapeutic decisions, custody or family-law matters, lending, and insurance.
Octant reports are not validated selection instruments and have not been assessed for adverse impact, predictive validity, or reliability. Using one in an employment or clinical context may also breach your own legal and professional obligations. If you are a consultant, coach, therapist, or people leader, you are responsible for ensuring your use of any report complies with the law and the standards of your profession in your jurisdiction.
4. Interpretive character
Every report describes tendencies and patterns — never certainties, and never a predetermined fate. Its observations reflect one possible reading of a profile, not definitive statements about your character, your future, or anyone else’s.
It is entirely normal for some parts to resonate and others not to. Interpretation of a profile is subjective by nature, and the reader is free to accept, qualify, or discard any conclusion.
5. Analyses of public figures
The analyses of historical and public figures published on this site and in the associated books are produced solely for illustrative and educational purposes, using biographical information in the public domain (documented name and date of birth).
These analyses represent Octant’s interpretation. They do not purport to state facts about the private life, actual personality, mental health, or intentions of those individuals or their relatives. They are not authorised or endorsed by the figures named, nor by their heirs, estates, or representatives. Any trade marks or names referenced remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only.
6. Your decisions are your own
Any decision you make — personal, professional, relational, financial, or otherwise — is entirely your own responsibility. Octant accepts no responsibility for actions you take based, wholly or in part, on the content of a report.
7. Accuracy of the data you provide
The quality of an analysis depends directly on the accuracy of the details you supply (full name and date of birth). Octant is not responsible for results arising from incorrect, incomplete, or false information provided by the client.
8. Health and wellbeing
No Octant content should be read as medical or psychological advice. If you are going through a difficult period or experiencing emotional distress, we encourage you to speak with a health professional or someone you trust.
In Spain, the suicide and emotional crisis helpline 024 is available 24 hours a day. In the United States, call or text 988. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, Samaritans can be reached on 116 123. Elsewhere, a directory of international helplines is maintained at findahelpline.com.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Octant is released from any liability for direct or indirect damages, losses, or consequences of any kind arising from the use or interpretation of the information contained in a report or on this website.
Use of the reports and of this site implies acceptance of this disclaimer and of our Privacy Policy.
