Behavioural Pattern Analysis

Eight axes.
One report.
Your pattern.

We cross-reference analytical frameworks that have mapped human behaviour for centuries — and extract the patterns they agree on. No labels. No personality types. Just the map underneath.

The problem

Personality tests give you a type.
We give you a map.

Most profiling tools assign you to a category and stop there. Four letters. A number. A colour. Useful as a starting point — but a starting point is not a map.

Conventional profiling

One framework, one result.

A single system can only see what it was designed to measure. Blind spots are structural, not accidental.

Octant analysis

Multiple frameworks, one convergence.

When independent analytical systems — designed by different cultures, in different centuries — point to the same behavioural pattern, that pattern is worth examining.

The method

Cross-framework convergence

The Octant engine processes a person’s full name and date of birth through multiple independent analytical systems — none of them invented by us, all of them refined over centuries of observation.

We don’t ask which system is right. We ask: where do they all agree? The points of convergence reveal the patterns that persist regardless of which lens you use.

The result is not a type, a score, or a label. It is a structural reading of behavioural tendencies organised across eight dimensions — a framework broad enough to capture complexity and specific enough to be actionable.

Every report is generated from first principles. No templates. No questionnaires. No self-assessment bias. Two people with different names and different dates will always produce different reports.

The eight dimensions

What an Octant report covers

Every analysis maps the subject across eight independent dimensions. Together, they form a complete behavioural profile — not who someone wishes to be, but how they are likely to operate.

01
Identity
Core self-concept. How the person defines who they are when no one is watching.
02
Cognition
Thinking style. How they process information, make decisions, and handle ambiguity.
03
Emotion
Emotional architecture. What drives them, what drains them, what they avoid feeling.
04
Action
Operational style. How they execute, build, lead, and respond under pressure.
05
Relationship
Relational patterns. How they bond, collaborate, conflict, and influence others.
06
Purpose
Directional tendency. Where their behavioural patterns naturally converge over time.
07
Cycles
Temporal patterns. When conditions favour expansion, consolidation, or transition.
08
Shadow
Blind spots. Recurring patterns the person cannot easily see in themselves.

The same framework, applied to
one of history’s most documented lives

We’re applying the Octant analytical engine to figures whose biographies are public record — verifiable, debatable, and rich enough to test our method against documented fact. The results are published as The Long Pattern , a collection of psychohistorical biographies with six volumes published so far — more are on the way.

Frequently asked

Questions people actually ask

What is Octant, exactly?

Octant is a behavioural pattern analysis service. We take a person’s full name and date of birth, run them through several independent analytical frameworks, and report back on the behavioural patterns those frameworks agree on — organised across eight dimensions, from identity to blind spots.

Do I need to believe in astrology or numerology for this to work?

No. We don’t ask you to believe in any single system — we look at where several independent ones, developed by different cultures over centuries, happen to agree. If you’re sceptical, treat it as a structured thought experiment about your own behaviour. If you’re not, it still works the same way.

How is this different from a personality test like MBTI or the Enneagram?

Those tools sort you into one of a fixed number of categories based on your own answers to a questionnaire. Octant doesn’t use a questionnaire, and it doesn’t sort you into a type — it generates a unique structural reading from your name and date of birth, so no two people ever get the same report.

What do I need to provide, and how long does it take?

Just a full name and a date of birth — no forms to fill in. Most sample reports go out within a few business days.

Can I get a report for a couple or a team, not just myself?

Yes. Alongside the individual reading, we offer a compatibility report for two people, and can prepare team or leadership readings on request.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. Your name and date of birth are used solely to generate your report. We don’t store, share, or reuse that data for anything else.

Is Octant available in languages other than English?

Yes — the site and reports are also available in Spanish, with more languages planned.

Can I request more than one free sample?

The free sample is limited to one per person. If you’d like more — for a partner, a colleague, or a different angle on your own pattern — those are available as paid reports. Get in touch and we’ll get back to you with the details.
